Yes! I use gold toned stainless steel clip ons on request. Just leave me a note at check out and I'll convert your earrings.

Short answer: Sometimes.

If you've seen a polymer clay product in my store or social media and you want  me to remake them or personalise it then feel free to reach out. If I have the time and resources then I love to make customers happy.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to take custom orders or pre-orders for ceramic products. Pottery is a time consuming process and a lot can go wrong. I don't want to make promises I can't keep!

Earrings - Yes! Please reach out to hello@willowsway.co for more information

Ceramic Products - No. Being such a time consuming product means we don't have the resources to offer wholesale.

POLYMER CLAY

Polymer clay is my preferred material for making earrings because they are relatively light weight and vibrant in colour. Even large earrings can be worn comfortably all day.

Polymer clay is not a natural material and is baked in an oven rather than a kiln. My focus is to create sculptured pieces you love but this leaves me with non-recyclable 'scraps'.

To reduce waste, I've created a "reimagined" range. The aim here is to create gorgeous earrings using different and often experimental techniques. These pieces can't be recreated so if you like something you'd better snatch it up!

Our earrings are durable, water resistant and colour fade resistant. However, they are not indestructible.

Treat earrings with care as strong forces or impact may cause damage. Storing earrings in a jewellery box will help protect earrings from accidental damage. Additionally, it is recommended earrings are stored out of direct sunlight to help keep colours vibrant.

If required, use a damp cloth to clean.

CERAMICS

There are endless ways to play with clay. Behind the scenes, we've put countless hours into research and development. Every potter would know the emotional highs, lows, and patience required to finally get a design right.

Let's assume all goes well, here is a very quick summary:

1. Mould the clay - This could mean throwing it on a wheel (yes, just like "that Patrick Swayze movie"!) sculpting or using our handmade moulds. This step take days because we need to wait for the clay to be just right to finalise every detail.

2. Painting - If needed.

3. Bisque fire - We put the pieces in our electric kiln for its first firing, cross our fingers and hope for the best.

4. Glazing - We glaze our work with our own glazes (creating glazes from scratch is a big project in itself but we want them to be just right for our designs!)

5. Glaze firing - We are lucky enough to have two kilns. Most of our work has a beautiful clear glaze and goes back into the electric kiln. However, sometimes we want to do something a bit fancier and will use the gas kiln  Either way, we pray to the kiln gods because this is arguably the riskiest stage of the process.

6. Optional Lustreware firing - Sometimes we want to as a final touch of luster (usually gold). After painting this on it goes back into the kiln.

7. Voila! We step back and (hopefully) admire our work.

Provided that everything runs smoothly, we take an average of 3 months to finish one batch. The hands on time for each piece is a couple hours but we need a kiln load of work before anything is fired.

Ceramics are fragile by nature so please handle with care. If you've purchased an item with a rim thinner than your average coffee mug or bird attached then definitely stick to hand washing.

Machines can make standard ceramics in bulk for close to nothing. I love a no-fuss dinner plate so there's no judgement here. However, our work takes so much time (see above) and we use the best quality materials we can get.

Our work needs to be considered a work of art. If you want a special handmade goodie then we just can't do it for the same price.
